How to sit out in Fortnite

If you’re looking to take a break from Fortnite and don’t want to get your game on, there are plenty of ways to do so. One way is by sitting out in the lobby. This will give you some time to rest and come back in more refreshed. You can also sit out if you feel like you’re not playing well. The important thing is that you should make sure that you have a good reason for sitting out.

How to Use the “Sit Out” Feature in Fortnite

  • To sit out from Fortnite party click on the Options button.
  • Than press the gear button right next to your in game nick on the sidebar menu.
  • As long as you’re in a party, you’ll now see the option ‘Sitting Out’ under the ‘Participation’ option. Simply select this and you now sit out any games your party plays in Fortnite

Why It’s Useful to Sit Out of Games

Even if you’re a long-time Fortnite player, there are instances when it might be useful to use the sit-out feature to avoid needless aggravation.

Sit out is convenient for players who have a game scheduled. For example, if you can’t decide whether or not to queue for a particular game before an important deadline, it’s helpful to just skip the game and wait until after the deadline has passed.

To stay competitive in Fortnite, teams must play back-to-back games in order to keep their opponents from winning any of the other matches. Once one team wins a match, they can continue playing until they’ve won all the other games in that match. If there are no more games left, they will win regardless of what happens during the first match’s downtime.

It can be frustrating when your team loses each game and then cannot continue because another team got better during the downtime period. It’s also frustrating when you see teammates getting podded while waiting on the sidelines while you’re trying to make sure everyone is safe and ready to play at any given time.
